I have worn Chacos for a few years now. The Z/1 sandals have been a comfortable and durable shoe for all my outings. I recently found myself needing some casual shoes for work and around town. One day while at Leaf in Creek, the Chaco Dixon High boots caught my attention.
The Dixon High are a simple and stylish boot that come in two colors, I chose the java color. The leather is a little stiff out of the box but becomes very soft and extremely comfortable after it has been broken in. The upper is waterproof as well as salt-repelling, this keeps the leather looking good even in the winter months.
A breathable form-fitting inner bootie provides a comfortable fit as well as some padding on the inside. Your feet rest on a Chaco LUVSEAT midsole that is certified by the American Podiatric Medical Association. The midsole provides a contoured arch support that provides all day comfort. The minimum rise between the toe and heel allows your foot to rest in a more natural position.
After several weeks, the Dixons have become one of my favorite pair of shoes. Their classic styling goes well in a business casual environment or for a night out. The midsole comfort is noticeable even after nine or ten hours on your feet. If the Dixons last as long as my Z/1s, they really will be an awesome pair of boots.

Product Review: Patagonia Lithia skirt
We think Patagonia is the cat’s meow…but don’t leave it to us. Take a look at what wilderness ambassador, Vanessa has to say:
Full disclosure: I don’t often wear skirts. Not because I don’t think they’re darling…I have a few hanging in the back of my closet, but it’s just sort of rare that I think to put one on.
But I think I’ve grabbed for this Patagonia skirt three times in the last two weeks. It’s pretty awesome all around- comfortable, fits well (you know, doesn’t hug in the unflattering places) has neat prints, and is super versatile.
In fact, last weekend I went up to Kentucky Lake for a family reunion and got to put its versatility to good use. I wore it on the four hour drive up, out on the boat, and even to a spur of the moment wedding.
That’s right. We had a pop-up wedding in my grandmother’s backyard for my uncle and his long time girlfriend. They just decided, “Why not? We’re all here anyways!”
The wedding was obviously very causal, but I at least felt decent in my comfy new Patagonia skirt.

It’s a glass of no-nonsense, we don’t need-no attitude wrapped in a gentlemanly swagger. It’s that look that invites a goodtime and maybe even a little trouble. The South isn’t afraid to get up with the roosters or stay up around the campfire and tell too many stories. It’s a little bit cocky, and a whole lot real. And it’s ready to keep on keepin’ on, no matter what may come its way.
Leaf in Creek’s give-a-away this week is a Fripp & Folly shirt. These are awesome shirts with great southern style prints and Comfort Colors.
